Sketchy Savannah

In light of my upcoming (way over due) vacation to Savannah...I've decided to highlight some beautiful art and photographs that can easily become focal centerpieces to any room. I ran across Heather L. Young on Etsy. I am o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d.  I absolutely love her charcoal sketches and water color paintings. She is a girl after my own heart as she is also a little obsessed with nature and things that fly =) Below are a few of my favorite. enjoy!
Forsyth Park Fountain {Savannah GA}

The Azalea Inn {Savannah GA}

Ford Plantation Gately Live Oak

Olive Tree

I fully intend on purchasing some of these sketches. She also does custom art! For those that are moving out of their first home and want a keepsake memory....think about getting your favorite artist to sketch your home . You can frame it and use it to dress your nest =)

... For those that have visited Savannah...give me some advice on the best restaurants , boutiques, and ANTIQUE shops!

{getting in the mood}

I have been living in my house for almost two years now and still do not have my bedroom decorated. No better time than the present! Recently, Nick and I purchased an upholstered linen headboard....it was just the inspiration I needed to complete my bedroom! My problem in decorating is my ideas are all over the place. I needed an outlet where I could gather inspiration. I researched mood boards and found a great website called Olioboard.com. It is super fun , easy to use,and it is free! My mood board is pictured below.

 My decorating style is a mixture of traditional , country, and french cottage. I love the damask prints and stripes together. There is a great new fabric boutique in Trussville and I intend to visit it this weekend! Step one: buy fabric . Step two: stalk grandmother ( who else knows how to sew these days??)
