A Calling

This is the second day of 21 days of prayer and fasting . It's a time of reflection, faith , discipline and purpose.  I've been attending Church of the Highlands in Birmingham Alabama since 2009. However, this is only the 4th time I've participated .  I'm not quite sure what I was afraid of...maybe it was loss of sleep?  Prayer starts at 6:00 am in the morning and I typically don't truly wake-up until I'm 4 hours into my workday...{ i wish that was a joke}

maybe, just maybe, I was afraid to pray. It can be  intimidating ... { especially when you grow up in a church and all you hear about  Is the wrathful , angry side of God}. 

 what if I say the wrong thing ? {you won't}

  what if He isn't listening ?  { He is} 

what I pray about isn't important ... Especially with all that is going on in the world { It is }

G O D is L O V E.  I've learned that hardcore over the last few years . He wants us to follow him and be obedient to him {out of love , not F E A R} After learning this ....my relationship with Him turned from have to {to avoid Hell fire and brimstone} to GET TO.  

God , above all, is such a faithful God . He honors what we put first . This year will not be the last that i endeavor to put Him above all ...
